Brownie points for anyone who knows what CNN stands for. When you’re done guessing, give a salute to its 27 years of broadcasting and then check out the newsworthy tidbits we’ve gathered below.
- A wireless for your wireless: Fans of Yahoo! Voice on Yahoo! Messenger can now walk about freely — no wires and no headsets. Check out the new Kensington Vo2000 Bluetooth Internet Phone with its two-way swivel flap that doubles as a mouthpiece and speakerphone. Just pop out the phone from your laptop (it fits in your PC card slot for storage and charging) and talk as you walk (within 30 feet). Who says you can’t do two things at once? Read more here.
- Hone your domain: Yahoo! Small Business just made it easier for you to improve your store’s search engine visibility. Now you can consolidate all your store’s domains and hostnames to a single domain of your choice. Which means more web traffic to a single URL and more value for your store’s search result ranking. Read more here.
- Cola that “transforms” into moolah: A special code printed on packages of Pepsi drinks (including Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist) could win you a prize for Pepsi’s “Transform your Summer” promotion — think free cash, trips, 42-inch plasma HDTV, and unlimited downloads on Yahoo! Music. Just enter the code and you could be one of the daily winners! While you’re there check out the Transformers movie trailer, TV ad, and street art.

CNN future summit is cool.
Kensington Vo2000 Bluetooth Internet Phone is nice. I was very happy to see updates from Yahoo! Small Business.
One gets to read a lot online. I am starting to think, i really dont have to know everything but decide upon something and make it work. Makes me think, arent their brilliant, clever, ambitious technology people out there today? If my company was into fashion design, wont i spend and work towards getting some amazing fashion designers. Yahoo!, please build your technology ranks.
-Get bold with hire and fire. Check for education and achievements while hiring.
Check for performance, contributions and personal career achievements before firing. ( ex: wrote a technical paper, participation in talks, achieved another degree, member of certain ngo etc.,)
-Education and achievements should be given preference over loyalty and seniority while hiring or promoting.
-Guys, gals, geeks, yahoo needs them all, human resource needs to be strengthed.
Regarding search:
1. Mahalo is interesting. In the future search algorithm will focus on the backend with humans presenting the frontend.
2. Click through search will become popular. Check Ask with a query and click through ‘narrow your search’ and ‘expand your search’.
P.S.
Q. What do you use search box for other then to get information?
Ans. I use it to spell check on words, sigh.

Cable News Network (as the hyperlink suggests.) But in its infancy, critics referred to it as “Chicken Noodle News.”
