Although we picked up our first Webby Award in 1999, it never loses its thrill. Last night, we became the proud recipient of four Webby Awards and five People’s Voice Awards at the 11th annual awards gala in New York City.
Since the awards are celebrated for their 5-word acceptance speeches, we thought we’d share ours:
-
Best Practices
Flickr – Webby/People’s Voice: “The secret to interestingness is …”
Best Visual Design, Function
Flickr – Webby: “Love ya, ‘kay, thanks, bye.”
Community
Flickr – Webby/People’s Voice: “Beta? Gamma? Flickr loves you.”
News/Documentary/Public Service
Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone – Webby: “War, what’s it good for?”
Real Estate
Yahoo! Real Estate – People’s Voice: “There’s no place like home.”
Other Advertising: Branded Content
Doritos & Yahoo!: Crash the Super Bowl ad contest – People’s Voice: “spicy, cheesy, crunchy, bold, smooth.”
Banner/Display Advertising: Business-to-Business
Alex Bogusky Trade Ad – People’s Voice: “Power to the people’s voice.”
(All of the winning speeches here.)
A big shout out to the scores of you who helped us bring home that spring-shaped statuette. We. Owe. You. Big. Time.
