Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! MusicOne year ago, we got together with Nissan to launch Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music, an effort to rock the world of music fans through a series of exclusive, A-list performances that could only be enjoyed on-demand by Yahoo! users. Now twelve months, one amazing custom stage, 26 performances, 40 million streams, and six puppets (yes, puppets) later – Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music is not only going strong, but kicking off year two.

In case you missed the performances (there’s a full archive of video clips and photos), or just want to reminisce with your fave artists, here are a few of our unforgettable moments and artists that have graced our stage, and a sneak peak of our next line-up:

  • November 2006: Grammy-winner Christina Aguilera kicks off the first-ever Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music performance
  • December 2006: Incubus keeps the party going by surprising fans with an impromptu cover of Lionel Richie’s “Hello” between camera takes
  • January 2007: Six marionette clones of Beck’s band perform alongside the actual Beck for an unforgettable performance of Beck’s hits
  • February 2007: John Legend pulls a fan onstage for a “Slow Dance”
  • April 2007: Iggy Pop and the Stooges share the spotlight by pulling a stageful of fans into the action
  • September 2007: Rascal Flatts becomes the debut act of MTV Networks’ MHD: Music High-Definition channel’s monthly Nissan Live Sets broadcasts
  • November 2007: Nissan and Yahoo! celebrate the one-year anniversary of the series with a star-studded celebration complete with private concert by Matchbox 20
  • December 2007: Performance from Sheryl Crow on the way. . . stay tuned!

In the last year you came, you saw, you streamed, you blogged, and you sang along. And we heard you loud and clear. That’s why there’s a whole second year of must-see moments from A-list artists already underway for your streaming pleasure in 2008. In fact, in the words of Nissan Live Sets alumni Tony Bennett, we think “The Best is Yet to Come.”

In the meantime, take a looksee through the past year’s highlights in our video recap:
