I’m trying to decide if I like our Twitter page background — does it work, or is it aneurysm-inducing?

aneurysm inducing +1. Too busy. How about something simple?

Comment Mlm Sales | February 9th, 2009 at 7:39 pm

Look them all, then choose your favorite

Comment Vegpuff | February 9th, 2009 at 8:28 pm

Should be simple

aneurysm inducing +1

How about just fading it to white a little? That way it’ll still do what you want, but be a bit more like a normal white background too.

Comment Ankur Banerjee | February 10th, 2009 at 6:33 am

Quite a few of these Twitter accounts which I was following already, but thanks for informing about the rest!

The Twitter background for /yahoo isn’t actually that bad.

Comment Vishesh Kumar | February 10th, 2009 at 6:55 am

I’d say the background’s pretty cool. It’s be cooler if you showed your numerous services and their screenshots over (rather irrelevant) merchandise. :) Also, try to make it a bit thinner, cause most of it gets lost in thinner screens. :S

aneurysm inducing +2

I am glad to see you have made it to twitter! Way to show the world you can move out of 1998.

Comment Leyton Jay | February 10th, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Awesome, welcome aboard!! Those are some other great twitter accounts too, but is there a Flickr one too? I know you’re partners so wondered.

Comment PeterS | February 10th, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Definitely aneurism x2. Go for the simple approach, much more easier on the mind.

Comment thorswitch | February 10th, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Sorry, I gotta go with aneurysm-inducing :(

Comment Richard Bowman | February 10th, 2009 at 12:28 pm

I love yahoo…now two of my favorites together..awsome. Maybe yahoo will read my tweets about being a street realtor in texas. I could BE on yahoo….Ok back to work

Comment Jeff O'Hara | February 10th, 2009 at 12:30 pm

Maybe it’s time to just buy Twitter :)

Comment Dario | February 10th, 2009 at 12:38 pm

With 18 different accounts you guys HAVE to check out HootSuite (formerly BrightKit). Just won the Shorty award for best twitter app.

Manage multiple accounts, multiple editors, URL shortener with STATS on your links. the analytics are addicitive.

Yeah, thats a shameless plug but its an excellent utility that Mashable called ‘the ultimate twitter toolkit’

Hi,

the first proposed background was headache inducing. i wouldn’t be so hyperbolic to say aneurysm (yes, how very un-internet of me) inducing. That being said, I like your more faded update. However, something simple would be more powerful. and i’d try to avoid tiling if possible.

Its more like a double seizure that got caught in a blender.

Nicki Dugan | February 11th, 2009 at 1:25 pm

Thanks for the feedback everybody. We’ve got people far better skilled in Illustrator working on a new background. Hope to have that up soon. In the meantime, I hope the more faded image is causing fewer seizures. And thanks to all of those who’ve decided to follow us on Twitter. We’re up to 1,400+ followers and off to a great start.

Comment Mohit Tripathi | February 16th, 2009 at 9:42 pm

Great decision.
Now everyone can follow Yahoo updates on Twitter.
Say thanks to Nicki.

God! My eyes! MY EYES!!!

Umm,, seriously.. it does hurt my eyes to look at that twitter page, it’s way too clashy and the colours too bright. Totally does not let you concentrate on reading the tuits. Could you not do something more simple as some people are saying here? Just a purple background with your logo would be better.
