i had installed the yahoo toolbar a while back but yesterday when i installed the windows 7 version of the toolbar i was really surprised!
This thing is sweet!..

i wasnt expecting this much pleasent improvements!

When I’ve downloaded the Yahoo Toolbar on Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 the tool bar is not found. This is the offical release of Windows 7 on this machine

I’ve also made Yahoo.com a trusted site, along with made it a domain within the Compatibility Views section of Internet Explorer8 however, the toolbar still does not appear.

As an added measure, I went into the Add-Ons within IE8 and saw the Toolbar, and it is enabled however it still does not show up.

And FYI; everything on this box works perfectly except for Yahoo Toolbar, and yes I downloaded it from the current website “http://www.yahoo.com/toolbar”

Windows 7 released on Octber 22, 2009
Internet Explorer 8 released on March 19, 2009
Todays Date: December 09, 2009

You cannot tell me that a team of development staff cannot pump working code out in 2 months for Win7 or even 9 months for IE8. FYI: Win7 was in Beta and available to MSDE customers for over a year.

I am very disappointed with Yahoo’s new home page. It is very annoying with pop up adds all over the place. You are just giving google the whole business. The page is very sloppy. I am finally done with yahoo and will be moving totally google. I don’t like google but it’s better then yahoo.

An overdue update on the Windows 7 situation… Since Windows 7 is in preview status, we’re still working on Toolbar support for it. It will be included in our second phase, which will be released soon. Stay tuned.

Hi Nicki, Nope, crash-city. Sent you a screenshot. This happened with older versions, too. I could n e v e r update IE Toolbar from the site- had to resort to older versions avail on Download.com.

So, i already comment this when i unistall the new toolbar…
One of the thinks i like the most on past version was the possibility to add my own buttons, which is no loner available.
So, as others here already said, it looks great, really out of the box, but functionality is not what i expected.
I don’t need to look for previews, if i have a button on my toolbar is because i want to go there.

So, i’ll kept last version.

Real nice job on the Firefox version. Well done.

BUT..

If you try and download the new version for IE8–it crashes IE8. Every time.

And this is a LONNNNNG standing problem that I have brought to the attention of the Toolbar Dept in the past.

It simply crashes IE every time. (And it’s IE8 provided by Yahoo!) So..I can’t install it. Wish I could!

most of the web is present in the yahoo! directory.

now for a person who has installed the yahoo! toolbar and when he is surfing the web and when he is on a domain then yahoo should connect to the yahoo! directory and show the relevant metatext as a small text strip below the toolbar.

this can be done for keywords too during search

ex: google
strip: Google allows users to search the Web for images, news, products, video, and other content.

i am sorry as an user, i am not impressed. I am infact very disappointed. All that code hours is a fact i feel.

what is this preview information of favorite sites and customize of apps from across the web these are their at yahoo.com and myyahoo i dont see anything new at toolbar.

nothing new at search too, most of the browsers offer search as a option no need of two search features.

give something new, just dont make a product.

go to the basic, ask yourself what a toolbar is and how it can be used then start from their, i dont want to do the thinking for you but i am disappointed.
