Whether you count yourself among those planning to get an iPad immediately, or those who just yearn for one, we are giving you more reason to love it with the launch of Yahoo! Entertainment for the iPad.

The growing popularity of tablet computers – spurred greatly by the buzz of the iPad – presented us with an entirely new kind of user experience to design and innovate against. Just like when we developed Connected TV and apps for the iPhone, we took this challenge and opportunity seriously, and leveraged everything that makes the iPad unique – gesture technology, vibrant display screen, geo-location technology, and the fastest Wi-Fi connectivity available. All of this, combined with a completely fresh perspective on where we want to take the future of the Web, made it possible to produce Yahoo! Entertainment for the iPad. It is truly unique.

Using editorialized, real-time content, Yahoo! Entertainment surfaces and recommends TV shows, entertainment news, TV listings, book reviews, and a wide variety of popular videos from across the Web. Our industry-leading entertainment properties on the PC attract nearly 200 million visitors each month worldwide*, making this a natural area for us to initially focus our creative energy on. We’re taking the content we know people love and combining it into a single, immersive app.
