Three Yahoo! properties, and one Yahoo! partner property, are in the running for the prestigious Webby Awards -- and your vote can make a difference.
The Webby Awards are handed out by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS) and recognized for excellence on the Web. The 65 awards categories include Websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile.
Last year, Yahoo! won awards for Flickr, Yahoo! Sports and Shine. This year, the properties and campaigns in contention are:
- Yahoo! Finance for Website – Financial Services
- Second Act from Yahoo! News for Online Film or Video – Reality
- Yahoo! Bus Stop Derby for Interactive Advertising / Mobile & Experience Marketing
- Ryder Cup Live Video - Yahoo! partnering with nominee NBC for Best Use of Interactive Video
Now it’s your turn. Two winners are selected in each category, one by members of the IADAS, and one by members of the public who cast online votes during the Webby People’s Voice voting. Last year more than 700,000 votes were cast in People’s Voice Awards .
The People’s Voice voting closes on Friday, April 28, so please take a moment today to register and vote for our properties by following the links above. It’s easy and takes less than 5 minutes.
In addition to the four properties up for the vote, Yahoo! already has plenty to be proud of. Six Yahoo! properties have been recognized as honorees (some in more than one category) meaning they are in the top 10% of entries while narrowly missing out on finalist places.
Congratulations to the teams responsible for Yahoo! Mobile - Flickr, Yahoo! Mobile - Social Pulse, Flickr from Yahoo!, Yahoo! Mobile - Messenger for iPhone, Yahoo! Mobile - News, and Ask America from Yahoo! News - all representing the depth and breadth of quality we strive for in creating relevant, deeply personal experiences for Yahoo! users.
