Yahoo! aggregates the billions of searches performed across Yahoo! properties to give the pulse on what people are thinking and talking about. Searches represent the people, an instant poll every moment of the day, looking into the fleeting moods and entrenched attitudes of Internet users across the world. Each week Yahoo! Web Life Editor Heather Cabot reveals these trends on local and national broadcast. Trouble in Greece, Bachmann’s misinformation, a royal visit and Independence day are all buzzing this week on Yahoo!

Greece
The web is buzzing this week about the violent riots in Athens and the Greek government’s controversial plan to overhaul its economy.  Interest in the story is so high right now that Greece is now one of the top ten most searched topics on Yahoo!.  People want to understand why Greek citizens are taking to the streets and also the details of the austerity plan to curb the country’s spending. Check out the latest on Yahoo! Clues.

A Royal Visit
Prince William and Kate Middleton are visiting Canada right now and heading for the US next week and Yahoo! users want the scoop. Kate continues to shine online garnering triple the searches of her husband. But her sister Pippa and Prince Harry are also getting lots of look ups, too.  Seems romantics are rooting for the royal in-laws to get together – searches for Pippa and prince harry are up a 142% on Yahoo! this week.

Fourth of July
With July fourth weekend kicking off, we took a look at how Americans may be celebrating Independence Day. Camping is a hot choice. Searches for camping supplies, camping tents, used campers and camping recipes are way up.  Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon top out the most searched national parks.

According to Yahoo! Travel, the Top Searched National Parks, this Month are:

  1. Yosemite National Park, California
  2. Yellowstone Park, Wyoming, Montana & Idaho
  3. Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
  4. Glacier National Park, Montana

Yahoo! Travel Editor Deborah Hopewell offers her “Top 8 Destinations to take in the Fourth of July”:
