A few months ago, we shared the exciting news about acquiring IntoNow, a cool technology with a mobile application that allows people to find, discuss, and follow their favorite television programs. Initially available for iPhone, a new Android app launching today expands consumer access just in time for the debut of an inventive multi-screen digital campaign with Lifetime Television’s, Project Runway Season 9.
Together with Lifetime, IntoNow from Yahoo! is bringing you Project Runway “Make-it-Work” moments to your smartphone and making it more fun and interactive for you and your friends (you know who you are – 70% of you use your smartphones while watching TV!).
How does it work? With the debut of IntoNow’s first Android app, both iPhone and Android users can simply hold up their mobile phone to the TV screen and identify each episode using the IntoNow from Yahoo! app to unlock free digital content featuring this season’s designers, and that nail-biting moment right before Heidi says, “Auf Weidersehen.” You can also participate in polls, engage in real-time conversations with friends and other Project Runway fans, and share it directly on Facebook or Twitter.
Using IntoNow from Yahoo!’s patented SoundPrint technology, IntoNow automatically identifies live television content and any previously aired content spanning more than 2.6 million airings. Over 130 U.S. TV channels are indexed live, creating a rich database to build video discovery and programming experiences.
Put down the remote and start sharing what you’re watching with the IntoNow from Yahoo! Android app, now available by searching for “IntoNow” in the Android Market and available for download on the iPhone.
Then, as Tim Gunn would say, “Carry on."
