Today, Yahoo! is asking our community of users to join forces and help honor some of the bravest heroes of 9/11 by contributing to the memorial for the victims of United Flight 93, which crashed into a field near Shanksville, PA.
The Flight 93 National Memorial will cover 2,200 acres, and will include a memorial wall, a grove of 40 trees (one for each passenger or crew member who died), and eventually, a 93-foot "tower of voices," comprising 40 wind chimes. Donors have already given $52 million to fund the $62 million memorial. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) are putting party differences aside to raise the remaining funds, and Yahoo! is joining their effort.
We are asking for your support to raise the $10 million still needed to complete the memorial honoring those that gave their lives on Flight 93 to save others. For today only, we have added a link to Yahoo.com enabling users to donate to the completion of the memorial. You can also visit www.honorflight93.org/donate to make a contribution.
Please help the completed Flight 93 National Memorial become a reality by sharing this initiative with your friends, families and social media networks.
