Ten milliseconds may not seem like a long time, but when it comes to loading online search results, Venkat Udaysankar begs to differ. “If something is slower by ten milliseconds, its not good enough for me,” says the Search Performance Engineer. Through his commitment to optimizing the search engine and delivering results at lightening-fast speed, Venkat gets satisfaction knowing that he is helping make Yahoo! users happy. “With everything that you do, with every ten milliseconds that you save, you feel like you put a smile on somebody’s face.”
