Luxuriate in the sights and sounds of Big Sky Country when you open up this fully immersive, interactive magazine ad for the State of Montana
Have you ever wanted to get a fully immersive taste of the great outdoors without actually having to, you know, go outdoors?
Now you can, courtesy of a magazine ad featured on Yahoo! News. The Montana Office of Tourism took full advantage of Yahoo! News being the #1 online news destination to run a rich media magazine ad, or mag ad, in honor of its new “Shaped by…” campaign.
Upon landing on News, you’re presented with both a 300 x 200 video player on the right and a snowy little sliver of a 950 x 60 banner along the top. Clicking the former doubles the video player’s size to show you excerpts from the three main narratives driving the “Shaped by…” campaign: Winter, Geysers and Glaciers.
The 950 x 60 banner “shapes” the real fun, however, as expanding that one opens up the full mag ad.
Brace yourself for the wintry wilds of Big Sky Country as you get lost in more natural wonders than you’d ever thought you’d see on a single digital canvas. With page turn buttons on the top left and right, the Montana mag ad offers a full complement of audio-video interactivity.
Each two-page spread features a gorgeous 500 x 575 photo on the left, while the right is divvied up between a 500 x 250 video panel at the top, a description in the middle, and a three-video toggle at the bottom. The descriptions and the videos themselves offer the user plenty of opportunities to ski on over to the Montana Office of Tourism site.
Click here to get a glimpse of Mother Nature at her most sublime. You’ll be “mag” about Montana in no time.
